New Lotus Eletre Launched In UK 2026

Lotus Launches High-Performance PHEV: The Eletre X

Lotus has expanded its Eletre electric vehicle (EV) lineup with a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant: the Eletre X, known as the Lotus For Me in China. This advanced hybrid combines exhilarating performance with practical range, offering an attractive option for high-end vehicle leasing and corporate fleets looking for both efficiency and excitement.

Performance and Powertrain

The Eletre X boasts 952PS, delivered by a combination of an internal combustion engine (ICE), two electric motors, and a 70kWh battery. While Lotus has yet to release full ICE specifications, the hybrid system is already being described as the industry’s most powerful hybrid generator, rated at 150kW. In ideal conditions, it can recharge the battery at up to 25kWh per hour.

The vehicle accelerates from 0–62mph in just 3.3 seconds and supports ultra-fast charging, taking only nine minutes to charge from 20% to 80%. Drivers can switch between six powertrain modes, allowing the Eletre X to operate as a pure EV, a traditional hybrid, or a range-extended EV where the engine charges the battery without driving the wheels.

Range and Efficiency

Electric-only range: approx. 217 miles

Combined range: up to 746 miles

This extended range helps eliminate “range anxiety,” making the Eletre X a practical option for longer journeys while still delivering supercar-level performance.

Handling, Braking, and Technology

Lotus has equipped the Eletre X with 48V active anti-roll bars and air suspension with dual-valve dampers, delivering precise handling and comfort across varied road conditions. Stopping power comes from Brembo six-piston front brakes, while an active rear spoiler generates up to 120kg of downforce with four selectable modes.

Leasing and Fleet Considerations

For businesses and leasing customers, the Eletre X combines cutting-edge performance with real-world usability:

Reduced emissions: PHEV capability allows shorter commutes on electric power alone.

Cost flexibility: Leasing a hybrid can help manage fuel spend while providing access to premium technology.

Driver appeal: Fast, responsive, and luxurious, it aligns with premium fleet offerings that emphasize both driver experience and corporate image.

CEO Perspective

Qingfeng Feng, CEO of Lotus Tech, explains:

“With For Me, we are proving that advanced technology must serve the drivers, not replace them - delivering constant performance, total control, and real safety in every condition. The result is effortless performance without range anxiety, every journey, every day.”

Availability

European deliveries of the Eletre X are expected in Q4 2026, making it a forward-looking option for fleets planning for the transition to hybrid and electrified vehicles.

The Lotus Eletre X demonstrates that hybrid technology can merge supercar performance with everyday practicality, offering fleet managers and leasing customers a unique combination of thrill, efficiency, and versatility.
